This thesis deals with the post-colonial problematic of tradition regeneration and cultural identity in the last three novels of the Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe, No Longer at Ease, A Man of the People and Anthills of the Savannah. The link between text and context is most explicitly highlighted in Achebe’s novels. The artistic elements of his texts (characterization and narrative mode) are employed basically as aesthetic devices to reflect his thematic orientations and the socio-cultural consciousness he is drawing on.

تعالج هذه الأطروحة إشكالية إحياء التراث و الشخصية الثقافية البوستكولونيالية في الروايات الثلاث الأخيرة للكاتب النيجيري شينوا أشيبي : لم يعد هناك إحساس بالراحة، رجل من الشعب، كثبان النمل في السفانا. فقد لمسنا في روايات أشيبي كيف أن الأدوات الجمالية و الأنماط التعبيرية تصور بشكل كبير التجارب الاجتماعية و التاريخية التي تقوم بسردها. فالعناصر الفنية لرواياته، مثل تمثيل الشخصيات و البنية السردية ، كلها تعكس التوجهات الموضوعاتية و المواقف الثقافية التي يحاول تسليط الضوء عليها فكريا و أدبيا. فهذه العلاقة القوية بين النص و السياق الواقعي المسرود هي خاصية واضحة و مميزة في روايات أشيبي.
