My research deals with second year EFL students’ perception of English phonemic assimilation of place across words-boundaries in the English Department at Médéa University. It is an exploratory study which seeks to identify the impact of the phonological context-information along with that of the acquired phonological knowledge of English phonemic assimilation of place on second year EFL students’ ability to perceive the relevant process.

تعنى هذه الدراسة بمعالجة مشاكل تمييز التماثل الصوتي للكلام المتصل نتيجة لتماثل الأصوات عبر حدود الكلمات لطلاب السنة الثانية اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية بجامعة المدية و على وجه الخصوص استكشاف أثر السياق و التدريب الفونولوجيين على قدرتهم على تمييز التماثل الصوتي مستخدمين تقنيات استخراج الكلمات ذات التماثل الصوتي، اختبار الإدراك الفونولوجي للتماثل الصوتي وتحليل البيانات و الاستبيانات.
