This thesis aims at exploring the assumptions of 15 lecturers at the department of English about the implementation and integration of teacher research in EFL teaching practice. The study is structured into three phases: an initial phase exploring participants’ level of familiarity with teacher research and their prior engagement in it. A teacher research phase investigating participants’ actual engagement in a teacher research project and a post teacher research phase examining the impact of doing teacher research on teacher professional development and the level of sustaining doing teacher research beyond the teacher research project of this study.
