The thesis aims to uncover the image of stereotyped and oppressed Black women in literature and films. It seeks to enlarge our understanding of Black female experience, realities, and intersecting oppressions. It clearly emphasizes the role of African American writers in depicting Black women’s experiences and oppressions in literature. It also investigates the depiction of Black women in literature and films by white gazers (white American writers and film directors). The exploration of the image of the stereotyped and oppressed Black women depicts that they have been stereotyped and oppressed by the social environment, the white oppressors, and even the white American writer and film director. The selected works demonstrate how women's representation differs in the two media and in the gaze of African Americans and white Americans. In this sense, this study adopts literary texts and films as essential areas to channel our energies into understanding disparities in representation. It also selected African American and white American writers and film directors to examine differences in perspective when representing Black women.

تهدف الرسالة إلى كشف صورة النساءالسود النمطية في الأدب والأفلام. يهدف البحث إلى فهم تجربة النساءالسود واقعهن، والاضطهادات المتقاطعة التي تعرصن لها. يؤكد البحث بوضوح على الدور الكبيرللكاتبّات الأمريكيات من أصل أفريقي في تصويرتجارب واضطهادات النساءالسود في الأدب. كمايستكشف البحث تصويرالنساءالسود في الأدب والأفلام من قبل الكتّاب والمخرجين الأمريكيين البيض و هذا لاستكشاف صورةالنساءالسود النمطية تحت اعين المخرجين والكتاب البيض. الأعمال المختارة توضح كيف يختلف تمثيل النساء في الأدب والأفلام وفي نظرة الأمريكيين من أصل أفريقي والأمريكيين البيض. بهذاالمعنى ، تتبنى هذه الدراسة النصوص الأدبية والأفلام كمجالات أساسية لفهم الفجوات في تصوير المراة السوداء.
