This thesis is an investigation into the morality of fiction, which consists in the exploration of the complex connection between art and ethics. The purpose it to consider the presence of moral discourse in creative writing and the importance of taking it into consideration in literary criticism. Ethical criticism, with its focus on the ethical dimension of literary texts, has come to be considered as reductive and irrelevant in a modern context that rejects overt theorizing and conventional ethics. Hence, the aim of this study is to re-adapt the claims of ethical criticism to a growing complex modernity following the tenets of John Krapp’s responsible ethical criticism. Indeed, the latter developed a new approach to ethical criticism through avoiding an oversimplified and monological treatment of texts, and establishing a balance between the ethical and the aesthetic dimensions. This work thus provides a study of six novels from English, American and African literatures, ensuring thus a diversity of socio-historical contexts to provide our claims for morality in literature with a broader relevance. This diversity is also important to ensure relativity in time and place, and to demonstrate that the ethical claims expressed in the works are not timeless and are subject to change. The works chosen for this purpose are masterpieces in the history of literature, namely: Mark Twain’sThe Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, Oscar Wilde’s the Picture of Dorian Gray, Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, Bessie Head’s Maru and NgugiWaThiongo’sA Grain of Wheat.Literature provides an important ethical ground where the individual identifies with the protagonists and puts into practice his/her ethical judgement, and the  literary critic is invited to bring to light this moral dimension- a most necessary practice in a modern world marred by unethical behaviours. This is what our study attempts to focus upon in the works under consideration.

Cette thèse est une investigation de la moralité de la fiction, ce qui se traduit par l’exploration dulientrès complexe entre l’art et l’éthique. Le but est de considérer la présence du discours moral dans la littérature et l’importance d’en prendre compte dans le domaine de la critique littéraire. Par conséquent,la critique littéraire éthique prend pour but d’étudier la dimension éthique des œuvres littéraire. Cependant, cette pratique est rejetée dans les temps moderne, accusée d’être didactique, en imposant des lectures préétablies, et réductive, car elle ne prend pas pour compte certains aspects des œuvres, comme la dimension esthétique, et de ne pas s’imprégner des problèmes réelles d’une société moderne qui ne croit plus en l’abstrait. En réponse à cela, John Krapp a développé une nouvelle approche qui permet d’adapter la critique littéraire éthique au exigences des temps modernes. Cette approche consisteprécisément à établir une balance entre la dimension éthique du texte et la dimension esthétique, ce qui évite une approche tropthéorique, et laisse le texte, de par ses structures esthétique, exprimer les valeurs morales. Les œuvres sont choisis de trois littérature : l’anglaise, l’américaine et l’africaine. La littérature procure un terrain éthique important, et c’est au critique littéraire de mettre la lumière sur la dimension morale du texte- une pratique qui se révéléêtrenécessairedans un contexte moderne ou règne la décadence morale.

هذه الاطروحة هي بحث في مجال المباديء الاخلاقية في الاداب. الهدف هو دراسة الخطاب الاخلاقي في الكتابة الابداعية وتبيان اهميته في النقد الادبي. هذا الاخير واهتمامه بالبعد الاخلاقي في الكتابة التالفيية, اصبح يعتبر محدود و تقييدي في عصر حديث يرفض اللجوء الى االتّقاليد الاجتماعية و المعنوية. هدف هذه الدراسة هو اعادة تكييف مطالب النقد الادبي الاخلاقي في عصر حديث معقّد, وذالك اتباعاً لنضرية جون كراب,الّذي قدّم نضرة جديدة للنّقد الادبي الاخلاقي, حيث انّه تفادى الدّراسة المحدودة للنّص الادبي باعتباره للبعدين الاخلاقي و الفنّي. هذا البحث يعتمد على دراسة ستّة روايات من الاداب الانجليزية و الامريكية و الافريقية. هذا مكّننا من اعتبار التّنوع التّاريخي و الاجتماعي و اعطاء دراستنا نطاق واسع. هذا التّنوع يساهم ايضاً في تبيان انّ المحتوى المعنوي للنّصوص المدروسة قابل للتّغيير من مجتمع الى اخر, و من عصر الى اخر. الروايات معتبرة من رواءع الادب و هي علا التّالي: الحرف القرمزي لناثانيال هاوثورن, مغامرات هكلبيري فين لمارك توين, صورة دوريان جراي لاوسكار وايلد, قلب الظلام لجوزيف كونراد, مارو لبيسي هاد, و حبّة القمح لنغوغاي واثيونغو. هذه الرّوايات موءلّفة في عصور تلجّ بالتّغيرات و الانقلابات الاجتماعية و الثّقافية: النّهظة الامريكية و مشكلة الهويّة الوطنيّة, نهاية القرن و فقدان الثّقة في العُرف في اوروبا, ما بعد الاستقلال و المناظلة من اجل الاستقلال الثّقافي.  السيّاقات التّاريخية و الاجتماعية المعقّدة لهذه الرّوايات توفّر مواقف تتّحدّى الشخصيّات الرّءيسيّة, حيث انّهم منهمكون في جدالات اخلاقيّة مهمّة, و مطالبون باعتناق فلسفة اخلاقيّة شخصيّة و تطبيقيّة. القيم الاخلاقيّة المستخلصة من هذه الرّوايات مستنتجة من دراسة عميقة للبنية الفنيّة المركّبة مثل: الرّمزيّة, التّشبيه, السّخريّة, الصّور الانطباعيّة و الحوار الذّاتي. القيم الاخلاقيّة اذاً ليست معيّنة من الاوّل او خاضعة لانطباعات شخصيّة. الاطار المعنوي و الفنّي يمثّلون محور هذه الدّراسة. في الختام نقول انّ لا يمكننا التّخلّي عن البعد الاخلاقي و المعنوي رغم التّقدم المحقّق في مختلف المجالات, ومن الصّعب اتّباع سيرة شخصيّة و حريّة غير مقيّدة. البعد الاخلاقي و المعنوي جانب مهمّ في الطّبيعة البشريّة, ويجب الاهتمام به في النّقد الادبي.

Nuestro trabajo  titulado “Estudio de lingüística textual, entre teoría y práctica: Aplicaciones a la novela al Túnel de Ernesto Sábato”, es un análisis con un enfoque tanto semiótico como pragmático realizado sobre un texto literario. Nuestro interés por la ambigüedad de lo que ocultan las líneas de Ernesto Sábato nos ha motivado a ahondar en la novela tomando la orientación semiótica, lo que ha sido arduo para nosotros, pero que nos ha ayudado a descodificar el discurso literario. Ante todo, hemos juzgado oportuno presentar unas semblanzas para poner de relieve el papel del novelista argentino, que sufre  como habitante de un país en que la violencia es una diaria realidad y dar de cierta manera un perfil de su personalidad enigmática.

  En el primer capítulo titulado “Aproximación a la semiótica y a la pragmática”, hemos estudiado la semiología y la pragmática en sus fundamentos teóricos para poder después aplicarlas a nuestro corpus práctico.  El segundo capítulo cuyo título es “El texto, el discurso y el contexto: Fundamentos teóricos” lo hemos consagrado al  estudio teórico sobre los fundamentos básicos que conforman la creación lingüística del discurso escrito. O sea hemos demostrado cómo la producción literaria se nutre de la lengua para concretar su objetivo de comunicación lingüística la gran producción de textos de nuestra sociedad. El tercer capítulo titulado “Corpus Práctico” lo hemos reservado a la práctica en el que hemos analizado semiótica y pragmáticamente el discurso narrativo de la novela “El Túnel” Gracias a los estudios de muchos teóricos vistos desde el principio de nuestra investigación, hemos podido resolver nuestras hipótesis planteadas en la problemática  al emprender  al trabajo a saber si el texto sabatiano encierra enigmas y no-dichos que manipulan el sentido y si tiene una dimensión isotópica que resulta de la construcción de sentido.

     إن بحثنا هذا تحت عنوان: دراسة اللسانيات النصية بين نظري و تطبيقي:" تطبيقات حول رواية النفق لأرنستوا سابتو".

     اهتمامنا بالغموض و ما تخبأه سطور المؤلف " ارنستو سابتوا" دفعت بنا للغوص في الرواية، آخذين طريق سيميائي الذي ساعدنا على تشفير النص الأدبي.

     قبل كل شيء، قمنا بتعريف الكاتب و الحقبة الزمنية التي صدر فيها الكتاب، و سلطنا الضوء على حياة الكاتب الأرجنتيني الذي يعاني كفرد في مجتمع حيث العنف هو حقيقة يومية.

في الفصل الأول، المعنون: " مقاربة سيميائية و براقماتية، فتعمقنا في الأسـس النظرية التي سيتم تطبيقها فيما بعد.

      و فيما يخص الفصل الثاني المعنون: " النص، الخطاب و السياق: الأسـس النظرية " فلقد خصصناه للدراسة النظرية.

       فلقد أثبتنا بأن الإنتاج الأدبي يتغذى من اللغة لتجسيد هدفنا من التواصل اللغوي، الإنتاج الكبير للنصوص في مجتمعنا.

    و قد استنتجنا  أن السياق يمثل العناصر الخارجية للنص و استبعاده أمر مستحيل، و قد أدت بنا دراسة الثلاثية ( النص، الخطاب و السياق ) إلى فهم النص فها جما و تفسيره تفسيرا شاملا.

     أما بالنسبة للفصل الثالث تحت عنوان " الجزء العملي " فقد قمنا بتخصيصه للممارسة التطبيقية لكل ما تطرق إليه في فصول سابقة، و ذلك على الخطاب السردي لرواية " النفق ".

التطبيق الأول الذي قمنا به هو إعادة بناء المعنى و ذلك من خلال التكرار و جميع الكلمات الغير المعلنة عنها مما أدى بنا إلى تحقيق بعض المخططات و الرسومات الإيحائية لفهم أبطال القصة و لتفسير بطريقة أو بأخرى سلوكهم.

     و بفضل مختلف الدراسات التي أجريناها من بداية بحثنا تمكنا من حل الإشكاليات المطروحة.

Résumé :

L’expérience de l’altérité est au cœur des quatre romans constitutifs de notre  corpus de thèse ; à savoir, L’Amour, la fantasia et Les Nuits de Strasbourg d’Assia Djebar ainsi que L’Amant et Un Barrage contre le Pacifique de Marguerite Duras.            A travers les écrits d’Assia Djebar, auteure algérienne de plume francophone, et ceux de Marguerite Duras, auteure française du XXème siècle, l’altérité s’avère être un motif récurent développé dans leurs différentes œuvres littéraires et artistiques. Des romans aux essais esthétiques en passant par les scenarii cinématographiques, la relation Même/ Autre, autrement dit homme/femme, se trouve en creux de leurs productions. Notre corpus présente des couples hybrides qui passent inévitablement par quatre phases cycliques : une  rencontre, une fusion, une transgression et une rupture.

Notre travail s’inscrit dans la littérature comparative par laquelle nous avons tenté de rapprocher ces deux auteures issues d’aires géographiques et culturelles différentes et qui ont pourtant un même objectif, une même vision : celle de s’inscrire dans une mouvance postcolonialiste aspirant à briser les frontières et à dépasser toute forme de différence avec l’Autre.

 :ملخص

يندرج موضوع الغيرية في خضم الروايات التأسيسية الأربع المكونة لمدونة رسالتنا والمتمثلة في: الحب والفنتازيا ،ليالي ستراسبورغ لآسيا جبار و كذلك الخليل و الحاجز ضد المحيط الهادئ لمارغريت دوراس.

من خلال مؤلفات الكاتبة الجزائرية ذات التعبير الفرنسي آسيا جبار و كذلك كتابات مارغريت دوراس و هي كاتبة فرنسية تنتمي الى القرن العشرين إتضح لنا جليا أن الغيرية نمط جوهري متكرر لطالما قامتا بسرده و التعبير عنه في كتاباتهم الفنية و الأدبية .من خلال الروايات و الرسائل الجمالية مرورا بالسيناريوهات السينمائية نلاحظ وجود علاقة الانا/و الاخر أو بتعبير اخر العلاقة رجل/امرأة في أعمالهم.

تقدم لنا المدونة أزواجا هجينة و التي تمر بأربع مراحل دورية ألا و هي:اللقاء ،الإندماج ،الإنتهاك ثم الإنفصال . يدخل عملنا هذا ضمن الادب المقارن و الذي حاولنا من خلاله ان نقرب هاتان المؤلفتان بالرغم من اختلاف البيئة و الثقافة التي تنتميان إليها و اللتان تتشاركان بالرغم من ذلك نفس الهدف و نفس الرؤيا المتمثلة في تجسيدهم ضمن حركة ما بعد الكولونيالية ، إذ تصبو الى تقليص الحدود و كذا أي شكل من اشكال الإختلاف مع الاخر.

Abstract:

The experience of otherness is at the heart of the four constituent novels of our thesis corpus; namely, “L’Amour ( love) , La Fantasie ( fantasia) , and Les Nuits de Strasbourg ( The nights of Strasbourg ) of Assia Djebbar as well as “ L’Amant et un Barrage contre le pacifique ( The lover and a dam against the pacific ) of Marguerite Duras.  Through the writings of Assia Djebbar, who is an Algerian author who writes with a French pen, and Marguerite Duras, who is a French author of the twentieth century, otherness turns out to be a recurring motive developed in their various literary and artistic works .Novels with aesthetic essays which go through cinematographic scenario. The relationship between the self and the other , in other words, man and woman is found in the hollow of their productions Our corpus presents hybrid couples that inevitably pass by four clinical phases, which are : meeting, fusion, transgression, and finally breaking.

Our work fits into the comparative literature by which we tried to make a link between these two authors who came from a different geographical and cultural area , and yet have a shared goal and a shared vision : that of  being part of a post colonialist movement that aspires to delete or get rid of boundaries and to go beyond any form of disagreement with the “other”.
